Our Story

The Church of the Holy Trinity

The Church of the Holy Trinity is an Episcopal church located in Hertford, NC. Since 1848 we have been serving our community with Sunday services that encompass values of faith, love, and continuous praise for the Lord. Our services are held every Sunday at 9:30 AM.

Holy Trinity offers a strong faith congregation growing in the Holy Spirit, sharing our faith, loving the Lord, caring for each other, and extending our reach throughout the community. We welcome all who enter through our doors with a friendly and loving atmosphere.

"I pray that the God of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of glory, may give you a spirit of wisdom and revelation as you come to know him, so that, with the eyes of your heart enlightened, you may know what is the hope to which he has called you, what are the riches of his glorious inheritance among the saints, and what is the immeasurable greatness of his power for us who believe, according to the working of his great power."  (Ephesians 1:17-19)

The Holy Trinity Episcopal Church is part of The Diocese of East Carolina and our Bishop is The Rt. Rev. Robert S. Skirving.  We are an evangelical parish which means that we preach the gospel of Jesus Christ and speak openly of our faith in Him.

We are also part of a larger Church family, The Episcopal Church USA, which is a member of The Anglican Communion.  While we see ourselves as a small parish, we are actually an average size parish in the Episcopal Church.  Our worship is central to our belief and our understanding that the act of praying is the act of believing.

We are a warm and loving parish made up of a rich diversity of members from North Carolina and up and down the eastern seaboard.  We are growing as East Carolina is growing, through the richness of retirement communities springing up all around us.

We encourage you to come and get to know the many active members here. Let us introduce ourselves through our faithfulness and service to God and most importantly through our Worship.
